- Mulberry 1.2.x BSNG Plug-in by Midiman/SPC.
-
- Internet Mail from the ground up...
-
- www.cyrusoft.com
-
- If you don't have access to your own IMAP server, you may try Mulberry by using
- the server at Carnegie-Mellon University or Cyrusoft's anonymous IMAP server.
-
- When you first start up Mulberry, you'll be presented with a settings dialog.
- Set it as follows:
-
- Set the IMAP User ID to anonymous
- Set the Email Address to your own real email return address
- Set the Real Name to your real name
- Set the IMAP Server to cyrus.andrew.cmu.edu
- You can also use imap.cyrusoft.com
- Set the SMTP Server to your own local SMTP server (for sending mail)
- Set the Hierarchy Separator to "." (period, full-stop)
- (Optional): for something interest to look at, put the following into
- your "Places to Search for Mailboxes":
- For the Carnegie Mellon server: archive*
- For the Cyrusoft server: mulberry*
-
- Then, each time you log in to the server, use your real email address as your
- Password.
-
- You can read some newsgroups stored on the mail server. You can test mailbox
- creation as long as your mailbox name starts with "INBOX." (e.g.
- "INBOX.testing"). You can practice creating and sending mail (though you'll
- actually be sending it through your own SMTP server).
-
- While doing this, please keep allthe normal etiquette rules concerning email in
- mind!
